Academic Writing Lab: Strategic Notetaking and Critical Reading for Assignments (15 October)

Master efficient, active research strategies to develop and support your learning and writing. Includes guidance on the appropriate use of AI.

This series of workshops explores the assignment writing process in an friendly and open way. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, compare experiences with other students and gain confidence through practice activities. Feel free to join every week or just attend the ones that target your goals.

Today we explore strategies to read academic texts and make notes in an efficient and purposeful way. As a researcher, it is important that your reading is not just about gathering the thoughts of others, but developing your own thinking to inform your writing. We will consider how you know whether you are reading the right things, how to make the most of your reading time, and how to ensure that the notes we take are useful.

We use Zoom scheduler to handle bookings on many Think Space events. When you click on the booking link you will be taken to a booking page.
