Bacchus Society

The Bacchus Society is one of the venerable and distinguished societies within Oxford Brookes University. The society was founded in 1997 as an alumni society that has since evolved into a student-led society. It is a community of students, graduates, and friends of the Hospitality, Tourism and Events subject area who are all formally connected. We endeavour to strengthen and foster a worldwide network of industry professionals.

“During my tenure as Head of Events for the Bacchus Society, I propelled my organisational and management skills to the next level. There were countless opportunities to collaborate on a range of ideas and develop new and diverse events; all of which enabled my personal and professional development setting me in good stead for post-university careers”

Charlotte Bailey; Events Manager 2020-21

The hospitality industry thrives on relationships. Our collective aim is to provide opportunities for students to meet and learn from industry professionals and establish long-term connections. We organise events that boost employability such as networking, guest talks, and workshops but also social events for students. All events build towards our extravagant, most awaited end-of-the-year Bacchus Ball!

The Bacchus Society encourages you to stay connected with Oxford Brookes Business School after you graduate to continue benefiting from the networks built at the University.
