    Do you have car parking?

    Car parking is not available Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm. For evening events, limited parking is available at Gipsy Lane from 5.30 pm and is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis with no pre-booking. Weekend parking is limited and subject to availability.

    Catering

    Can I bring my own catering or can I use my own caterer?

    We do not permit external catering. Catering is provided through Gather & Gather who have responsibility for all Health and Safety aspects of catering, this includes due diligence of the supply chain and all aspects of food safety on site. Gather & Gather are committed to a high degree of ethical standards and ensure that catering meets the University’s sustainability agenda.

    Can you provide for special dietary requirements?

    Yes, our catering team can provide menus for attendees with dietary requirements and provide suitable alternatives where appropriate. As standard, we can provide gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and halal options.

    What eating options are available on the Headington Campus?

    There are a variety of catering outlets across the campus to choose from. 

    • Avo Café – located on the ground floor of the adjacent Abercrombie Building, the café serves Vegetarian and Vegan food exclusively.
    • Café Central – offers a wide range of hot and cold snacks from filling homemade sandwiches, paninis, and salads, sweet and savoury pastries.
    • Clerici Café - an informal selection of pastries, homemade muffins, freshly made sandwiches, and baguettes.
    • The Deli – gourmet homemade sandwiches, seasonal soups, salads, and artisan bread, including a range of hot sandwiches filled with hand-carved local meats.
    • Taylors Yard – formal dining experience and waiter service; with guest chefs and cuisines.
    • Co-op – supermarket selling a range of groceries and freshly baked products.

    Do you offer private dining?

    Yes, we cater for occasions and private celebrations in the Terrace (maximum capacity of 200) and Taylors Yard (maximum capacity of 80).

    Venue

    Is there free Wifi?

    WiFi is available in all areas and is free of charge.

    Does the University have year-round facilities?

    We have meeting and training room facilities that are available all year round including weekends. Outside of the semester (mid-December to mid-January and mid-June to the beginning of September), we can offer an array of venues for a maximum capacity of 500.

    When can I access the venue for setup?

    Event organisers will have access to the venue 30 minutes before your booking for setup. Should you need extra time please speak to your Venue Coordinator.

    Can I hire additional equipment?

    Yes, we have a number of options to help support your event from trestle tables to additional AV. We work with our trusted and local event suppliers for items we don’t hold in stock.

    Do delegates have access to leisure facilities?

    Brookes Sport offers a wide range of facilities including a climbing wall, fitness suite, squash courts, and AstroTurf, as well as a selection of classes. Facilities are available on a pay-as-you-go basis.

    What does venue hire include?

    Accessibility

    Is the University fully accessible for wheelchair users and others with mobility difficulties?

    Oxford Brookes University campuses are generally accessible to wheelchair users, and we are constantly working to improve accessibility. If you have mobility difficulties, you can request an individual tour which will highlight the most accessible routes for you. If you have any questions about accessibility, please contact us.

    Is Blue Badge parking available?

    All sites have parking spaces for holders of a Blue Badge.

    Is there accessibility for people with hearing impairments?

    Hearing loop facilities are offered in many of our lecture theatres.

    Are accessible toilets located near event spaces?

    Accessible toilets are available throughout the Campus.

    Do you offer accessible accommodation?

    We have accessible bedrooms on request. We do our best to accommodate all access needs. If you are attending an event and need the university to help with any access or dietary requirements you may have, please contact us.

    Weddings

    Can I get married at the University?

    We are not licensed for wedding ceremonies but welcome enquiries to host receptions and celebrations in the Terrace or Taylors Yard.

    Can I hire Headington Hill Hall for my wedding reception?

    Currently, we are unable to host weddings and functions at Headington Hill Hall.

    AV

    Is AV included in event spaces?

    Yes, standard AV facilities are included in the venue hire fee. Lecture theatres, meeting rooms, and classrooms are equipped with a desktop PC, screen, and projector. Lecture theatres are equipped with audio facilities. Non-standard AV equipment such as portable PA systems, laser pointers, etc is subject to additional charges and availability.

    Does the University offer AV support?

    We are able to offer support for events subject to additional charges and availability.

    Accommodation

    Does the University have year-round accommodation?

    During July and August we can offer a variety of accommodation options depending on your needs. Please see our accommodation page or contact us and we would be happy to advise you.

    How do I book group accommodation?

    Please contact our Venues and Hospitality Assistant via email who will be happy to assist you.

    Can I book breakfast with accommodation?

    We are unable to serve breakfast in our accommodation but we are happy to recommend places within walking distance. A hot breakfast is served Monday to Friday inside the University. Group bookings are able to purchase breakfast vouchers for their attendees.

    Do you have double or twin bedrooms?

    No, all rooms are single ensuite for sole occupancy.

    Can I bring children?

    No, the minimum age for check-in is 18.
