How to find us

Our venue spaces at Oxford Brookes University are in a great location in the South East of England.

Our main site is located just over 50 miles from London and 60 miles from Birmingham, we have excellent transport links via road, rail and express coach. This means that all of our venues are easy to access via public transport, as seen below in the map we have provided to help plan your journey.

We also have venue space at our Swindon site, located just 40 miles from Bristol and 35 miles from Bath the site is within easy access for the M4.

By car

We strongly advise you not to come by car unless absolutely necessary, since parking is very restricted in the city and on the campuses. If you wish to come by car to Oxford, we recommend you use the Park & Ride bus services.
The park and ride car parks are clearly signposted as you approach the city and the service is frequent all day and through the evening.

If you are attending the campuses for a meeting with our team, they will offer a visitor parking space for showarounds and other specific needs.

  • From the south - take the M40, leave at junction 8 and follow the signs for Oxford along the A40. Then follow the signs for the city centre on London Road
  • From the north - take the M40, leave at junction 8a and follow the signs for Oxford along the A40. Then follow the signs for the city centre on London Road
  • Coming to Oxford via another route - we recommend taking the ring road to the Headington Roundabout and following the signs to the city centre along the London Road. Continue along London Road, past the Headington shops. Go straight on at the traffic lights with the White Horse public house on the right and then at the next set of traffic lights turn left. Gipsy Lane site is on the right. Headington Hill site is approximately a further 500 metres straight on from the Gipsy Lane junction on the right.

By bus

Several bus routes connect our campuses, the surrounding area and city centre:

By train

There are direct train services to Oxford from many UK towns and cities, many at least hourly and sometimes half-hourly. Trains for Oxford from London depart from Paddington Station and are run by First Great Western. During the daytime, the trains depart from Paddington approximately every 15 minutes and depart approximately every 30 minutes during the late evening. The journey time is about one hour. By coach

There is an inter-city direct motorway coach service from London, running as often as every 12-15 minutes most of the day, every 20-30 minutes late evenings and hourly right through the night. Travel time is 70-110 minutes depending on traffic. Pay the driver - you don't have to book ahead. The coach drops you off right outside Oxford Brookes Headington Campus as well as other stops in Oxford City Centre. For more information on either service please visit Stagecoach: Oxford Tube.

Coaches from the airport and London stop near Oxford Brookes Headington Campus on Headington Road. If you have lots of luggage with you and need a taxi to your accommodation, stay on the coach until the last stop, which is Gloucester Green coach station in the centre of Oxford. It is much easier to find a taxi from there.
