Activities for new arrivals

When: Daily from 10:00 to 15:00 from  Friday 19 January 2024, and Monday 22 January 2024 to Wednesday 24 January 2024

Location: The Forum, John Henry Brookes Building (JHBB), Headington Campus

The International Student Meeting point (ISMP) is a help desk for new international students, Our International Student Advisers and International Student Helpers are here to answer any questions you have. Come and see us to join one of our free tours, learn about our events, get a map of the city, pick up a SIM card, or just to have a chat.

When: At 11:00 and 13:00 on Friday 19 January 2024, and Monday 22 January 2024 to Wednesday 24 January 2024

Meeting point: International Student Meeting Point (ISMP) - Forum - JHBB, Headington campus 

Booking: No booking is required however, please note that we have limited capacity (first come first served basis), so please make sure you arrive on time to join.

Headington Campus tours for international students. The tours will be led by our International Student Helpers and will last approximately 1 hour.

When: At 14:00 Friday 19 January 2024 and Monday 22 January 2024

Meeting point: International Student Meeting Point (ISMP) at 13.30 or Carfax Tower, Queen St, Oxford OX1 1ET  at 14.00

Booking: No booking is required however, please note that we have limited capacity (first come first served basis), so please make sure you arrive on time to join. The event is free of charge. 

Join us for a tour of the city centre to explore Oxford, find out information about shops and points of interest and to make friends. Tours will last approximately 1 hour. 

When: from 17:30 to 19:30 on Monday 22 January 2024

Location: The Terrace, John Henry Brookes Building (level 1), Headington Campus

Join Rob, our amazing tour guide, for a walking tour of historic Oxford and its colleges. Tours last approximately 1 hour. 

When: Saturday 27 January 2024

Price: £13

Meeting point: Rob, our tour guide, will meet you at the London Victoria Rail Station bus stop at 11.30am (UK time)

Meeting time: 11:30am (UK time)

Join this guided walking tour of London to discover some of the most famous landmarks of the UK's capital city! Our tour guide Rob will share some fascinating stories with you, and tell you about London's history as you walk past: Buckingham Palace, St James’ Park, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Whitehall, Downing Street, Horse Guards parade, Trafalgar Square and South Bank.

The exact schedule will be confirmed by Rob on the day. Students who wish to stay in London can check our Things to do in London page for suggestions of things to do after the tour.

Transport: 

Please note that you need to organise and pay for your own transport to and from London. We recommend that you book an early coach or train, as there may be delays during your journey. If you have a lot of spare time in London before the start of the tour, you can grab a coffee or go for a wander around the area.
