Apprenticeships offer employers a great opportunity to address skills gaps in their organisation. They provide a training framework for developing a new member of staff; or a way to upskill a current employee. Higher and degree apprentices study whilst they work and are given a valuable opportunity to apply academic theory to practice in work settings. The cost of apprenticeship training and assessment can typically be met, in full or in part, through the apprenticeship levy or government funding for non-levy payers.
Oxford Brookes offers a range of degree apprenticeships on its main campus and higher and degree apprenticeships in collaboration with our Associate College Partners (ACP).
The University can offer programmes to levy paying employers or those with an arrangement for the transfer of levy funds on the main campus. Some of our partner Colleges can also offer programmes non-levy funded employers (with an annual pay bill of less than £3m) as well as levy payers.
Degree and higher apprentices study whilst they work. Apprentices are employed and receive a wage.
