This is a guest lecture by Fanzi Down. Fanzi heads up the confectionery division at DPS Designs, a design engineering business that operates in confectionery, automotive and aerospace industries. She has a real passion for innovation and continuous improvement in business. Fanzi was the one of the inaugural Women in Innovation award holders in 2016 by InnovateUK, and led the business winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2020. She has been instrumental in transforming the business from the ‘best kept secret in the industry’ to one of the world’s renowned creative chocolate designers and mould makers. She has been an ambassador, assessor and mentor for the Young Innovators Programme by the Prince’s Trust, as well as a great advocate of bringing more women and young people into engineering and manufacturing.
