Gender equality projects and initiatives

Our work on Athena Swan and wider gender equality is supported and enhanced by a range of internal and external partnerships and research and practice projects which inform our approach at institutional and faculty and directorate levels.

These initiatives are chiefly led by the Centre for Diversity Policy Research and Practice (CDPRP). More information on current projects and resources can be found on the CDPRP website.

GEARING-Roles - Gender Equality Plan

A Gender Equality Plan (GEP) has been developed through the GEARING-Roles Horizon 2020 project, in which the University is a partner, led by the Centre for Diversity Policy Research and Practice.

The Oxford Brookes University GEP is an evolving framework which will provide synergy and support for our Athena Swan and wider Gender Equality implementation. The GEP provides specific linkage to the gender equality and gender mainstreaming priorities of the European Commission.

The GEP will develop iteratively to align and contribute to the new University Strategy and the equality and inclusivity dimensions of our People and Culture Strategy.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange Network

Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange Network brings together academics and practitioners across the University who are actively engaged in diversity-focused research themes, innovative inclusive methodologies and intersectional factors. The network fosters sharing and collaboration internally and externally.
