Support for graduates and alumni

Careers can offer support for alumni and graduates of Oxford Brookes University for up to 3 years after graduation.

How do I prepare for my graduate career journey?

There are lots of things to consider to prepare yourself for working life after Oxford Brookes:

  • Writing and targeting your CV for the role that you are applying for, reviewed by Careers
  • Do you know what your selling points are and how to promote yourself to employers?
  • Have you got enough experience for the job you want to apply for? Could completing a virtual internship or volunteering help boost your CV?
  • Have you researched employers in your chosen industry and do you know what skills and experience they ask for in applicants?
  • Is your LinkedIn profile up to date and does it do yourself justice?
  • Have you practiced for your job interview and/or assessment centre?
  • Do you know where to look for roles in your industry and are you searching in the right places?
  • Have you looked at the Brookes Connections career mentoring scheme that offers mentoring for Oxford Brookes students and recent graduates?

Access to Career resources

You should be able to access careers resources, jobs and events on our Careers Portals for up to 3 years after you graduate.

For access to careers resources please email careers@brookes.ac.uk.

Thinking about further study?

Postgraduate study can be a great investment in your future, but the decision needs careful consideration, so why not talk it over with a Careers Consultant? Careers can help you investigate whether or not further study is the right option for you.

Applying for further study is similar to applying for a job; you may be required to complete an application form, submit a CV and/or provide a supporting statement or personal statement, and Careers can help you with this.
