How to apply

  1. Identify an institution to host your examination. This will normally be your nearest British Council. Other institutions will only be approved at the discretion of the Examinations Manager (e.g. another University). The majority of British Council Exam Centres require a minimum of 15 working days notice of an exam request and will not agree to host on shorter notice.
  2. Contact the host institution and find out who can help you organise your off-site exam. This will be your Off-site Exam Contact. You will need their name and email address.
  3. Complete the Off-site Exam Application Form, making sure you have provided the contact details of your Off-site Exam Contact, and email it to: exams@brookes.ac.uk
  4. Make the payment to Oxford Brookes for your application through the online shop. If we are unable to arrange your examination, you will be refunded the fee. If you choose not to attend the examination, the fee is non-refundable.
  5. We will contact your host institution to make a formal request to host your exam.
  6. We will notify you if your application has been approved or rejected. If the application has been rejected, your payment will be refunded.
  7. Make sure that you complete all required registrations and payments with your host institution before any deadlines they set. This is your responsibility.
  8. Attend your examination at the host institution on the correct date and time. Remember to bring your Brookes student ID card and other required items to the exam.
