Study skills and resources

Your tutors may ask you to study in different ways to what you have done before. You can find study skills advice and academic resources at Oxford Brookes to help you understand what you need to do for your coursework, reading, presentations and research.

  • Centre for Academic Development offers advice in study skills (e.g. planning and writing essays, assignments and dissertations), academic English, maths and statistics. To book a tutorial, visit the Centre for Academic Development website or email academicdev@brookes.ac.uk.

  • Academic English support for international students who are new to studying in a UK university and particularly if English is an additional language. Develop your research, writing and language skills to reach your full potential.

  • Course resource help provides the Library's course-specific databases, journals, referencing information and support, as well as the contact details of each Academic Liaison Librarian.

  • Library 'How to' pages show you how to use some of the Library's key services.
