    There are some registration restrictions that you need to be aware of - we recommend flexibility in your module selections. Please read the information here before choosing Calgary as your preferred destination.

    There are a very limited number of modules available in the Haskayne School of Business, and therefore this partner university is not recommended for Oxford Brookes Business School students. There is also a limited number of available modules in the Schulich School of Engineering.
    PLEASE NOTE that Economics is part of the Social Sciences program in the Faculty of Arts at Calgary, and therefore open for Brookes students to apply for (not available for Oxford Brookes students studying Law). Please email Oxford Brookes Exchanges Team ( for more details.

  • York University, Toronto, Ontario
    Third largest university in Canada. Open for most subjects, but restrictions apply for some areas of study.
    PLEASE NOTE that York can normally not guarantee any modules prior to online registration or arrival and enrolment on campus – we therefore recommend this partner to students with flexible study plans and not too many compulsories.

  • Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU)
    This university teaches in English. With 2,600 international students from around 80 countries making up almost half of APU's student body, and a 50% international faculty, the multilingual and multicultural APU learning environment is unique in Japan.

    Open to students studying International Relations and Sociology, as well as some Faculty of Business students. Please check your eligibility with the Global Exchanges Team.

Please note: Students can only go on exchange to the following fourteen universities if they are studying our Japanese Studies degree course.

    • The oldest and largest US-style university in Central Asia
    • Located in the centre of Almaty, the financial capital of Central Asia, students have the opportunity to experience Central Asian culture in a dynamic and modern environment
    • All programs are taught in English
    • Students at KIMEP come from 25 different countries

Tamkang University

Open to Applied Language students studying Chinese (Mandarin).

From its beginnings as one of the first schools of higher education in Taiwan, TKU now has four campuses comprised of eight colleges, with a total of about 25,000 students.

  • In 2010 MUIC received the Best Practice Award for its exchange programs from Thailand’s Ministry of Education in recognition of its thriving Study Abroad Program for inbound international students and outbound candidates. There are international students from over 45 countries studying at MUIC.
  • The Thai Ministry of Commerce recently awarded MUIC the Thailand Trust Mark in as much as it exemplifies the highest international standards in education. This award is a validation of MUIC’s commitment to academic excellence and internationalisation. The college has exchange agreements with over 75 partner universities from North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Oceania.

    Please note that USA citizens including dual citizens (USA + another country) cannot apply to California State University, Sacramento.
    Not open for : Construction Management (CM); Education (EDU); Graphic Design (GPHD); Health Science (HLSC); Interior Design (INTD); Nursing (NURS); Photography (PHOT); Biological Sciences (BIO); Criminal Justice (CRJ); Kinesiology (KINS); Psychology (PSYC).

    Not recommended for Accounting students due to a very limited number of suitable modules.

  • Rutgers University-Newark Campus, New Jersey - Video / Virtual Tour
    Currently open for International Relations (RL, RX) and Politics (PO) students. Currently only one 1 semester long place available.
    Rutgers is an urban anchor institution in and of Newark, New Jersey’s largest city, buzzing with cultural and economic growth - just 20 minutes away from New York City. International Relations and Politics students will be studying in the Department of Political Science.
  • University of South Florida, Tampa
    There is restricted availability in the USF College of Business and therefore only Oxford Brookes students taking Marketing and Management modules are able to apply to USF.
    Mechanical Engineering, Accounting and Finance courses, Media and Broadcasting courses in Mass Communications, and some selected special program courses are not available to exchange students. Students intending on taking courses with USF’s College of Education, College of Engineering, Mass Communications, Information Systems Management and College of the Arts should contact the Exchanges team before applying.
  • The University of Texas at Austin
    This link is NOT open for students studying in Business School, the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, or studying Law. Ranked 38th university in the world (The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020).
  • Virginia Tech, Blacksburg
    Currently not available to Architecture students and Engineering students. Exchange study opportunities in Pamplin College of Business are limited. Placement in modules is very restricted and cannot be guaranteed. We therefore recommend this host only to students with flexible study options.
  • University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia
    Open for Nursing Studies only.
    Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Nursing exchanges are on hold for the academic year 2021/22.


RMIT VietnamVideo
Open for Communication, Media and Culture and Business and Marketing Management students. This campus is part of RMIT based in Melbourne, Australia.

We recommend Communication, Media and Culture students also consider a one year option with one semester at RMIT Melbourne followed by one semester at RMIT Vietnam.
