Sean is Interim Pro Vice-Chancellor, Educational Partnerships at Oxford Brookes University.
Sean has executive responsibility for the University’s international, college, provider, digital and employer partnerships.
He has held multiple roles in higher and further education institutions, most recently as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Strategy & Transformation) at University College Birmingham and prior to that as Principal and Chief Executive Officer of Petroc College, PVC Education and PVC Research & External Relations at Buckinghamshire New University, Director of Student Education & Engagement at University of Exeter, Deputy CEO of the Higher Education Academy, and Head of Learning & Teaching for the Higher Education Funding Council for England. Sean specialises in strategic planning, curriculum innovation, and digital learning, aiming to align education with societal and economic needs.
He holds a doctorate in Higher Education Management from the University of Bath and is a dedicated advocate for social mobility and inclusion. In addition to his university leadership, he serves as Chair of the Harbour Schools Partnership and a Commissioner on the South West Social Mobility Commission.
