  • All Brookes Sport facilities are well served by public transport with the BROOKESbus connecting all campuses, the city centre and halls of residence. Bike racks are available next to each sports centre.

    We encourage use of public transport or active travel such as cycling or walking wherever possible. 

    Parking is subject to restrictions.

    Occasional sports users (those without sports membership) may park at any site off peak (16:30-06:59 weekdays and all weekend/bank holidays) The first two hours’ parking is free, with stays of longer than two hours attracting a charge. You will need to input your vehicle registration into the parking machines upon arrival (even if parking within the two-hour free window) to avoid a fine.

    Sports members wishing to park can purchase a parking permit (£10 annually). Parking will then be free off peak (16:30-06:59 weekdays and all weekend/bank holidays) at Headington and Wheatley and any time at the Harcourt Hill sports centre car park.

    You can apply for an application for the sports member permit online by visiting www.brookes.ac.uk/travel/parking/

    You will require your membership number  (on your receipt ) or ask reception. When applying please use Sport and Leisure tab.

    Please note: any Oxford Brookes student or staff who also has a sports membership is not permitted to apply for a sports permit.


    If you use our facilities as a non-member and then decide to join within 7 days and have a receipt we will refund this when you come to reception to activate your membership, however if you have lost your receipt we are unable to do a refund (maximum 1 refund only).
    We cannot take Direct Debit payments from overseas bank accounts. If you do not have a UK bank account we have a range of memberships which you can pay by cash or credit/ debit card up front. Please speak to reception for details.
    If you have applied for a Brookes student/staff or a Discounted membership please bring the appropriate ID or if you are a community member bring a form of photo ID upon your first visit to the centre. 
    Please visit reception to complete a direct debit form with your new bank account details, however if you do this after the 15th of the month you may have to pay by cash or card for the following month as your bank may not have been notified in time.
    If you have lost your Brookes student card please go to Student Central and apply for a new card and activate your new card at the Sports centre reception. If you are not a Brookes Student you may have to pay £5.00 for a replacement card.
    Please contact reception who will unlock your account for you after performing some security checks.

    Changed your mind?
    All memberships are subject to a 14 day cooling off period from the purchase date and a full refund will be given if you have not used the facilities. If you have used the facilities you may still cancel within the 14 day cooling off period but any refund will be less the days used. Email  sportsmembership@brookes.ac.uk or contact reception.

    Cancellation of Direct Debit
    You may cancel your membership for the following month by cancelling your direct debit instruction with your bank at least one working day before payment is due on 1st of that month. Alternatively, membership can be cancelled by emailing sportsmembership@brookes.ac.uk with your full name, membership number and instruction to cancel by the 15th of the month before you wish your membership to end.


    If you pay by Direct Debit, you may freeze your membership without charge up to two times in each 12 month period. Freezes are for a minimum of one month and a maximum of four months. You must provide a minimum of 15 days notice before the date you wish the freeze to be applied.
