Professor Nick Wilton, Dean of Oxford Brookes Business School said: “A place on the Oxford Brookes Business School Dean’s List is recognition of both academic achievement and a significant contribution to our community. We are incredibly proud of our Dean’s List students and the way in which they have used their time at the School both for their own personal and professional development and for the collective good. Pia Kammerlander, MSc International Business Management student said “When I decided to move abroad to pursue my postgraduate studies, I never imagined that I would achieve something as prestigious as a nomination for the Dean's List. This recognition is deeply meaningful to me, as it reflects both my dedication and the growth I’ve experienced since stepping out of my comfort zone and moving to the UK!

“In addition to my academic and extracurricular achievements, I embraced opportunities to contribute to my community, serving as a mentor for international students, a course representative, and a volunteer in various initiatives. These experiences allowed me to support others, foster collaboration, and connect with diverse perspectives. I also actively engaged in extracurricular activities, including competing in the L’Oreal Brandstorm and organizing campus events as an Event Assistant, which further enriched my postgraduate journey. This nomination is a testament to the value of stepping out of one’s comfort zone and the rewards of hard work and dedication.”

Della Sabrina, BA (Hons) Business and Marketing Management student said “I am incredibly grateful to be included in the Dean’s List. This recognition means so much to me, as it reflects the effort I’ve put into making the most of my time at Oxford Brookes. Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to create a positive impact on the student experience, both within the university and the Business School. As Chair of the International Student Network and Vice President of the Brookes Marketing Society, I’ve been able to bring students together through engaging events, creating a welcoming community. I’m also incredibly thankful to the Business School for giving me the chance to take part in consulting projects, where I’ve been able to practice the theories I’ve learned in university to tackle real-world challenges. These three years have challenged and pushed me to grow both professionally and personally. Thank you to teachers and mentors who have supported me and made this possible!”

Hristina Gabrovska, MSc Marketing and Brand Management said "It is truly an honour to be named on the Dean’s List. For me, this recognition reflects not only my hard work over the past year but also my contributions to the Business School. My ambition to make the most of my master’s at Oxford Brookes has paid off – not just in academic performance but in the practical knowledge and industry insights I’ve gained along the way. I now feel confident to step into the marketing industry and am eager to make meaningful contributions.

“One of the key reasons for being included on the Dean’s List is my engagement with Business School life. I have supported new students during induction and represented the School at agency open days, including WPP. Beyond university, I had the opportunity to work with a sustainable fashion label on a market research project. This experience was especially rewarding, as it allowed me to apply the knowledge gained at Brookes to a real-world, sustainable business initiative.

“I am deeply thankful to the tutors on the marketing program, who have shared their invaluable industry expertise. I am especially grateful to my supervisor, Dr Bjoern Asmussen, for his guidance and for helping me build confidence in my abilities throughout the year.

“The Dean’s List Award has reinforced my belief that hard work truly pays off. It has motivated me to continue challenging myself and take every opportunity as I strive to reach my goals. Finally, this recognition is an important reminder of the value of celebrating personal achievements and the role acknowledgement plays in driving motivation."

Dino Boller, BA (Hons) Business & Management student said, "Being included on the 2024 Dean's List at Oxford Brookes University is an incredible honour and a milestone for me. This recognition reflects both my dedication to academic growth and my efforts to merge entrepreneurship with my studies. Through my online auction company, I’ve had the privilege of applying what I’ve learned in lectures to real-world challenges, generating over £1.3 million in sales and promoting sustainability by planting over 1,300 trees. Beyond academics, my time at OBBS has been enhanced by meaningful contributions to the community. As Vice President of the Oxford Brookes University Ice Hockey Club for the 2023 / 2024 season, I’ve worked hard to foster inclusivity, organise international tournaments, and advocate for players rights, all while proudly representing Oxford Brookes on a global stage. This recognition inspires me to continue striving for excellence and I thank Oxford Brookes University for providing me with the opportunities and support to grow both personally and professionally."

Robert Temple, Global MBA said “It has been a tremendous privilege to attend Oxford Brookes, but to be recognised on the Dean's List is an unbelievable honour that exceeds all expectations. The efforts I made towards helping other students were quickly paid back to me, and I'm extremely grateful for the fantastic friendships and connections we've made, which I'm sure will last for years to come. My charitable work for Naomi House helped me give back to my community in ways I previously didn't consider, and this has all been thanks to the staff at the University who pushed all of us to achieve our full potential, develop new skills, and recognise new opportunities.

“The MBA has been exceptional, having had a huge impact on my professional and personal life already. None of what I achieved would have been possible without the incredible support from the lecturers and staff at Oxford Brookes, and I'm extremely grateful for all the guidance they've given.”

Rucha Date, MSc Marketing student said "Receiving the Dean's List recognition is an incredible honour that validates my hard work and commitment to Oxford Brookes University. As the Marketing Team Lead for Oxford Brookes Racing Autonomous (OBRA), Student Ambassador, and Course Representative, I've dedicated myself to academic excellence and enriching our university community.  This award represents more than just an academic achievement; it celebrates passion, leadership, and commitment. I am truly humbled and grateful for this recognition."
