Join a school that is committed to tackling the big issues facing society today. We bring together the distinct but interconnected disciplines of Psychology, Social Work, and Public Health, creating a dynamic environment where ideas and expertise combine to address complex, real-world challenges.
Our teaching is research-informed and focused on applied learning, so you’ll graduate with both the knowledge and the practical skills to make a positive impact - whether that’s improving mental health and wellbeing, supporting communities to thrive, or advancing public health initiatives.
Our programmes are taught by internationally recognised researchers and experienced practitioners who are passionate about sharing their knowledge. There will be opportunities to benefit from a trans-disciplinary approach, where insights from Psychology, Social Work, and Public Health enrich your learning and broaden your perspective.
With professional accreditations for Psychology and Social Work, you can be confident that your qualification meets industry standards and is highly valued by employers. We combine academic excellence with practical relevance, giving you the tools to succeed in a competitive job market.
We offer a range of Psychology courses, designed to provide you with a solid grounding in empirical methods, theories and discoveries, located in a purpose-built discipline area at the heart of the University campus, featuring state-of-the-art facilities and laboratories. We also offer professionally recognised qualifications in Social Work, enabling you to take your first steps in your professional career. We offer programmes designed to support those in Management and Leadership roles within health and social care, as well as those who want to mentor and teach others in a professional context.
After you achieve your academic and/or professional qualification, we can offer a wide range of opportunities to support your continuing research/professional development by providing post-qualifying and postgraduate courses.
We believe the best way to learn is by doing. That’s why our programmes include placements and/or work-based learning opportunities with key providers of services to support individual and community health and wellbeing. These experiences help you build confidence, apply your knowledge in real settings, and develop the skills employers are looking for.
Our strong industry partnerships also support a thriving Continuing Professional Development (CPD) offer, so you’ll be part of a school that’s deeply connected to both the real world and professional practice.
We also take our programmes out to partner organisations in Hong Kong and Singapore, via our ‘flying faculty’.
“Through my course I gained experience in research, data analysis and academic writing, as well as critical thinking and problem solving.”
