This is a single credit level 4 module for students who speak English as an additional language in the first year of their studies in any field. The module is designed for students who have previously had little experience of, or training in, Academic English.
Students who take this module develop their assignment writing skills with an emphasis on the writing process including research, gathering and integrating evidence from sources, planning, writing and the appropriate use of AI. The materials and activities are designed to give students practice with key skills and the confidence to communicate confidently in an academic context.
The assessment consists of two essays along with reflective templates that help students to reflect on and demonstrate their learning.
