Oxford Brookes late CAS policy - January 2026 intake
For the January 2026 intake, we encourage students to complete all the necessary steps to ensure they receive their CAS by 23 December.
We understand however that some students may require additional time.
Due to UKVI processing times within different regions of the world, it is not always possible for the University to issue a CAS after 23 December, which would enable the applicant to enrol on time.
We will be following the below criteria for issuing late CAS between 5 January to 16 January:
- Priority visa applications required: Late CAS issuance is dependent upon students being able to apply for a visa using a priority visa service that is currently running to its standard service time. Applicants must use this priority visa service and provide evidence that they have done so within five working days of having received their CAS.
- Failure to provide evidence of a priority visa booking will result in a warning and, followed by the CAS withdrawal if no evidence is provided 48 hours after the initial warning.
- Exclusions to late CAS issuance: The University is unable to issue late CAS to applicants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iran, Syria, Yemen, Russia, Iraq, Myanmar and the Indian states of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
- Active engagement: The applicant must have been actively engaged in the CAS process by 24th December, by maintaining consistent communication with the University (via CAS Shield, direct contact with staff, or through their agent).
- Clear visa history:
- The applicant must not have a previous UK visa refusal.
- The applicant must not have had a recent visa refusal from another country within the last four months.
- Financial documentation: The applicant must have simple financial documentation, such as single bank accounts in the applicant’s or their parent’s name, or a study loan from a widely used bank. For example, no unexplained large deposits prior to the start of the 28 day period.
- Pre-CAS Interview: Where a Pre-CAS interview is required, these should have been recorded before the 12th January and the applicant should have scored 7.0 overall and 7.0 across the 4 mandatory questions, these questions include:
- One of:
- Why did you choose Oxford Brookes?
