Karen Hayzen-Smith is Director of Group Finance at Johnson Matthey plc, a role she has held since January 2020. She is responsible for finance reporting, planning, shared services and business process activities and leads the Finance Transformation programme.
Following a degree in Accountancy from the University of Stirling, Karen began her career at Arthur Andersen in Glasgow. She then moved on to a number of finance roles at Vodafone plc, Hanson plc and Amec Foster Wheeler, including Global Tax Director, Group Treasurer and Sector Finance Director roles based in the Middle East.
More recently, she was Finance Director for the Aviation sector of Babcock plc responsible for finance, procurement, IT and human resources.
Karen is also a member of Institute of the Chartered Accounts of Scotland (ICAS) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
