Visitors will also be required to pre-book their sessions via our website or app, and these will run for 60 minutes. We ask that you arrive no more than 5-10 minutes ahead of your scheduled slot.     Please note that at Headington, the Health Suite and Free Weights areas are separately bookable activities.



    To avoid bottlenecks, please arrive no more than 5-10 minutes prior to your pre-booked session. There will be an outdoor queueing system in place with indoor provision for poor weather. We ask that all visitors use the hand sanitiser provided upon entering the building and encourage anyone with the NHS Covid-19 contact tracing app to scan the QR codes located at the entrances to our facilities.
    Our team have been working hard in moving equipment in our facilities so that gym users have adequate space to exercise safely. Equipment has been suitably spaced, and where that has not been possible, some items have been taken out of use.
    We are implementing a new reduced class timetable which can be viewed here. Class attendance will be by prior booking only, with spaces limited to ensure everyone can safely adhere to social distancing guidance. As with previous timetables, classes will be bookable via the website and app.

    Use of face coverings at Brookes Sport is in line with the whole university, with the wearing of masks and coverings being mandatory in all public communal spaces. Students and staff of Oxford Brookes University with exemptions are able to claim a sunflower lanyard without proving the university with any personal details.

     

    Official guidance remains that masks should not be worn during sport or exercise.

    If you would like to cancel your Brookes Sport Membership, please cancel your Direct Debit instruction by contacting your bank directly by telephone or banking app. Your bank will notify our membership team. 

    Please note. We are accepting freeze requests up to 2nd January 2021. If you wish to freeze for longer than this period, please contact your bank to cancel your Direct Debit instruction.

    The gyms at Brookes Sport boast a variety of equipment to suit your training needs, with facilities at both our Headington and Harcourt campuses. 

    Each gym is equipped with a full range of equipment including:

    • Treadmills and X-Trainers

    • Concept 2 rowing machines
    • Spin, Upright and Recumbent bikes
    • Hand bike
    • Fixed resistance machines
    • Lifting platforms
    • Functional rig
    • Plate loaded machines

    • Dumbbells, Olympic barbells, kettlebells, medicine and swiss balls

    Primarily for the teams and individuals that represent Brookes and our TASS athletes, our dedicated strength and conditioning gym is also available to all during timetabled open sessions or by arrangement with our S&C coaches.
