Pay As You Go

You don't have to be a Brookes Sport member to enjoy the Brookes Sport facilities as most can be used on a Pay As You Go (PAYG) basis. To access any of our facilities you must still register with us and then you will be able to book activities through the Brookes Sport app on Android or IOS, or our Book Online portal.

Our gyms and steam and sauna facilities (Harcourt Hill) are the only facilities that do not require bookings but you are still required to be a PAYG user.

For fitness classes, bookings can be made on the Brookes Sport app on Android or IOS, or via our web Book Online portal. Current PAYG users can book up to 7 days in advance, whilst Direct Debit, Annual, and Monthly paid members are entitled to priority booking of up to 10 days in advance.

To book your FREE Gym Induction or Wellness Check or to enquire about Gym Programmes, please talk to reception or email our Fitness and Wellness Sports Manager, Rich: rormiston-rees@brookes.ac.uk.

All gym and fitness class users must be aged at least 16. For 16 and 17 years old's, a gym induction along with the U18 Liability Disclaimer for Facilities Usage form must be completed ahead of using the facilities. The majority of our Duty Manager are able to complete this on the the young person's first visit, or you can book in a time that suits you with our Fitness and Wellness Sports Manager, Rich: rormiston-rees@brookes.ac.uk. Under 18s are not permitted to use the free weights areas.

Off-Peak Fitness Classes are classes at Headington and Harcourt Hill before 2pm on weekdays only. Please note that this does not include our Learn to Lift fitness class due to the small class format.

Sessions must booked either on the Brookes Sport app on Android or IOS, or via our web Book Online portal. Current 'Pay As You Go' users can book up to 7 days in advance, whilst Direct Debit and Annual, and Monthly paid members are entitled to priority booking of up to 10 days in advance.

Each session is limited to 22 swimmers. ALL swimmers aged 5 years and over will need to be registered and booked onto the session. Under 5's who swim for free, do not need to be registered and are exempt from booking. Register swimmers over 5.

Child : Adult swimming ratio applies to all public swimming sessions:

0 to 5 years - must be accompanied in the water 1:1 ratio by a responsible adult
6 to 8 years - must be accompanied in the water 1:2 ratio by a responsible adult
9 to 11 years - must be accompanied in the building by a responsible adult
12 years and older can swim without a responsible adult in the building

The Headington Sports Hall is able to accommodate Basketball, Volleyball, Indoor Football, Netball, etc and bookings can only be made on the hour. The Synthetic Turf Pitch is for outdoor activities such as Hockey, small-sided Football, Lacrosse training, etc.
