Business School Joins AWS Academy to Equip Students with In-Demand Cloud Computing Skills

25 April 2024– Today, Oxford Brookes Business School announced its participation in AWS Academy.

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) programme empowers higher education institutions to prepare students for industry-recognised certifications and careers in the cloud.

AWS Academy provides higher education institutions with a free, ready-to-teach cloud computing curriculum, built by the experts at AWS, that fits into existing course structures and includes lectures, hands-on labs, knowledge checks, and projects for in-depth learning experiences.

Beginning in semester 3 for the 2024 January intake students of MSc Management and Business Analytics programme, a group of approved AWS Academy educators trained by AWS (led by Professor Nicolette Michels, Dr Noman Hossain Chowdhury, Dr Xu Huang) will incorporate in-demand cloud skills via the Business Analytics module, allowing students to solve business challenges based on actual industry scenarios, and help to prepare them to pursue industry-recognized AWS Certifications and in-demand jobs in one of the fastest-growing industries. As cloud adoption has accelerated, companies large and small around the world are investing in their future with the cloud and need individuals with cloud skills to help them achieve their goals. In fact, according to LinkedIn data, cloud computing is one of the top hard skills companies need.
