This course is designed for anyone new to Google. You can choose between an online 45 minute self-study course or a classroom based workshop. Contact IT Training to enrol on a course.

Google Workspace Drive

This course is designed as a follow-up course to Google Starters. Choose an online 90 minute self-study session or a classroom based workshop. Contact IT Training to enrol on a course.

• File storage fundamentals with Windows and Google Workspace. 
• Managing folders and files. 
• Learn the differences between My Drive and Shared Drive. 
• Explore document sharing and collaborative working

Google Workspace Applications

This course provides an introduction to Google, docs, sheets, and slides (mirroring MS Office Word, Excel, and Powerpoint). A basic knowledge of MS Office applications is assumed.

Google Workspace Tuition

Workshops and one to one sessions offers a variety of useful and invaluable training, provided upon demand. Contact IT Training to request a one to one session and learn about other Google tools.

• Google Sites enable you to build mobile device friendly websites.
• Google Meet allows you to communicate with colleagues via video.

• GCFLearnFree, which provides several Google courses online.

• Linkedin Learning provides courses via a monthly or annual subscription.

Please note that if you decide to choose a fee paying course, you should check that the courseware is recently updated. Google frequently changes features in its applications. A course more than two years old may be out-of-date..

Certification in Google Workspace signals to employers that you possess the digital skills to work collaboratively and productively in a professional environment. By earning the Google Workspace certification, you prove your ability to complete common workplace activities using cloud-based tools to create and share documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and files. You demonstrate that you can communicate effectively with email and online meeting solutions.

• Workspace End User Learning Path. A Workspace End User possesses the digital skills to work collaboratively and productively in a professional environment. This no cost learning path guides you through a curated collection of on-demand courses that provide you with real-world, hands-on experience Google Workspace to secure, share, and collaborate, and to customise your workflows to meet your work style.

• Google for Education Certification. Take an Educator Level 1 exam for a nominal fee. The course is designed for Schools/FE Education but will challenge your Google Workspace knowledge. Google frequently launches new features without making big announcements. They also sometimes announce changes which only appear several months down the line. In some cases features are made available but restricted by the Google administrator at Oxford Brookes. This is why you may notice several differences with private Gmail accounts or those of other institutions.
