A Chromebook is a different type of laptop. It runs a web browser (Google Chrome) and nothing else. Chromebooks are ideal for email, web searches, accessing the Virtual Learning Environment, searching library databases - in fact, pretty much anything that is internet-based. Because it is web-based, it runs Google's own applications which include word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and, of course, Google Mail.
They are available to borrow for free from the self-service cabinets at Headington Road (JHBB Forum), Swindon Library or Marston Road (MRG44). You will need your staff or student ID card. There are no Chromebooks available currently at Harcourt Hill or Wheatley libraries.
