Exam arrangements for disabled students

Reasonable adjustments for students with disabilities, dyslexia and learning difficulties

You must have an Inclusive Support Plan (ISP) in place by the relevant deadline to receive reasonable adjustments in your exams.

Please contact the Inclusive Support Service well before the deadline to allow enough time for your ISP to be set up. Each semester has a deadline for exam adjustments (see below). 

Once your ISP is in place, your exam adjustments will apply for the duration of your course unless an expiry date is stated. You do not need to contact the Exams Office directly unless you have a query about one of the topics listed below. 

Deadlines for reasonable adjustments 2025-26

Semester 1

  • Friday 21 November 2025 (Semester 1, Week 9)

Semester 1 Resits

  • Postgraduate Semester 1 Resits: Friday 23 January 2026 (Semester 2, Week 0)
  • Undergraduate Semester 1 Resits: Friday 6 March 2026 (Semester 2, Week 6)

Semester 2

  • Friday 27 March 2026 (Semester 2, Week 9)

Semester 2 Resits

  • Friday 12 June 2026

Arrangements

Please contact the Exams Office at altprov@brookes.ac.uk if you have one of the following queries:

  • you don't have the type of room you expect,
  • you have the same room as the main room (see the Exam timetable and key dates webpage)
  • you can't see any extra writing time allowance in your Google Calendar exam event by Week 11.

All requirements approved by the Inclusive Support Team before the deadline will be met. 

No adjustments will be put in place once the deadline date has passed.

Students with approved reasonable adjustments should check their full ISP provision is correct, using the reasonable adjustments page in Student Information.

Please note:

  • Students who have a scribe or reader will have the opportunity to meet them before the exam.
  • If a student repeatedly chooses not to use a PC despite having it in their ISP, the provision will be removed.
