Global Cafe - From 24 September
Global Café is a fortnightly event for international students to relax, connect, and build friendships in a welcoming environment. International Students are invited to come along, enjoy a free drink and snack, and chat with other students and ISAT team members. Throughout the semester we will invite other teams from across the university to come along and share exciting initiatives and information with you, to help you get the most out of your time at Oxford Brookes. We look forward to welcoming you to Global Cafe!

Guided Walking Tour of London - 26 September
When: Saturday 26 September 2026
Price: £15 (Guided walking tour only - travel NOT included, Oxford Tube bus recommended)
Trip Overview:
Meet our guide Rob in London at 11.30am for a two-hour walking tour and you’ll hear some amazing stories about this incredible city while viewing Buckingham Palace, St James’s Park, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, The Strand, Covent Garden and the South Bank of the River Thames.
… and that’s just the start of the day, there is a 24-hour bus back to Oxford Brookes, so you can return when you want. Why not ask Rob for info on some places to see in your free time? Remember some of the top museums and attractions in London are free to visit!

Transport: Please note that you need to organise and pay for your own transport to and from London. We recommend that you book an early coach or train, as there may be delays during your journey. If you have a lot of spare time in London before the start of the tour, you can grab a coffee or go for a wander around the area. We would recommend using the Oxford Tube bus, as this goes directly from outside the University, to London Victoria.

Postcards Home - 29 September
Let your loved ones know how you are settling into life in Oxford with a postcard home!
Join ISAT and the Residences Life Team to design and write your own postcard, and then your postcard will be sent free of charge to your chosen loved ones!

Movie Night - 15 October
Join us for an evening of film and snacks! There will be refreshments and snacks to accompany the film. Film choice will be decided by student vote.

Halloween Tour of Oxford - 31 October
Our guide Rob, will take you through 1,000 years of gruesome Oxford History. You’ll hear about murderers, ghosts and body snatchers, in the creepiest, darkest streets and alleyways of the medieval City. A fun introduction to Hallowe’en in Oxford
Tour will last approximately 1 hour.

Diwali; Fairy Lights Giveaway - 2 November
Ahead of the celebration of Diwali, ISAT will be giving away battery powered fairy lights for anyone who wishes to decorate their rooms, flats or houses! Just pop by the collection location on Monday 2 November to pick yours up for free!

Cream Tea & Crafts for International Students Day - 16 November
Join us for a traditional British 'Cream Tea' and get creative with a choice of fun international themed crafts! It's a great opportunity to socialise, make friends and get creative with other international students while having some tea and scones with jam and cream!

Christmas at Blenheim - 26 November
ISAT and Brookes Residences are excited to join forces once again, for a trip to the 'Christmas at Blenheim' event.
The price includes entry into the Illuminated Light trail, Christmas Market, Blenheim Palace gift shop as well as return travel from Headington Campus.

ISAT Christmas Celebration - 3 December
The infamous ISAT Christmas Party returns for another year!
Join us for a festive celebration in an old English pub in the city centre, a great opportunity to immerse yourself in a very British tradition!
The subsidised ticket price includes a 3 course dinner and maybe even a visit from Santa himself!

Trip to Winter Wonderland, London - 8 December
ISAT and Brookes Residences are thrilled to be running this exciting trip to the famous Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, London.

Trip to Stratford-upon-Avon & The Cotswolds - 3 October

Trip Overview:
The Cotswolds, one of the most picturesque parts of the U.K, is right on our doorstep and the first stop, Minster Lovell, is only about 40 minutes away! We will walk through the enchanting village on our way to the ruined Minster Lovell Hall where you will hear about the Lords who lived there, the Kings who stayed there and the legends and ghost stories passed down through 600 years of history.
Then it’s just a short trip to Burford, where there are shops, cafes, and pubs, in an area loved by the wealthiest celebrities both today and in the distant past.
Travelling through the Cotswold countryside, we head towards Stratford-upon-Avon the home of William Shakespeare where you’ll have time to explore the gardens, shop, walk along the river and see the places that the greatest writer in the English language knew so well.

Trip Overview:
On the walking tour of Cambridge, you’ll find out about Issac Newton, see the world’s strangest clock, hear how a murder in Oxford started the university and how the world’s most popular sport began in 1863.
You’ll then have the whole afternoon free to see the colleges, the river, “the backs” the shops and free museums.

Trip to Bath - 7 November

Trip Overview:
Over 2,000 years of history. Stunning 250 year old streets and houses.
Rob will tell you the history of this unique City on the way to Bath and after a quick orientation tour, your free time begins. You’ll have time to explore the centre of the city and attractions such the underground Roman Bath Museum.
In the afternoon we will head to the hills for some great views, more extraordinary history on the coach tour and then a walk to two of the most incredible streets in England: The Circus and the Royal Crescent.

Trip to Cardiff, 'the Capital of Wales tour' - 21 November

Trip Overview:
A day in Britain’s most Traditional Country.
You’ll hear the history of this nation, its people and language from Rob on the way to the Capital City. We start at Cardiff Bay, once one of the most important ports in the world, now home to the Welsh parliament where you can spend your free time by the harbour.
After a short journey, we will spend the afternoon in the historical city centre. Attractions include the free National Museum, with its world-famous French art, the castle, and indoor and outdoor shopping areas.
