Staff and student permit holders can park on campus during off-peak hours (between 5.01pm and 6.59am, Monday to Friday and at weekends) at no charge.
Off-peak parking
Non-permit holders and members of the public are welcome to park on campus during off-peak hours in some University car park sites, subject to paying the applicable off-peak charges. Signage is in place to ensure staff and members of the public are aware of charges.
Our Oxford car park sites offer a convenient and affordable alternative for getting into Oxford city centre during evenings (after 5.00pm) and at weekends/bank holidays.
Getting to Oxford
The 400, 9, or X20 buses all stop outside the University at Headington Campus (Stop 5) and get you into Oxford City Centre in around 10 to 15 minutes, with buses running regularly throughout the evening and weekends. You can track live departures on the Oxford Bus Company website.

Oxford Brookes University’s car park sites do not have payment machines. All payments must be therefore made via one of the following methods:
- JustPark (weekends only at specified sites)
If pre-booking, go to JustPark and search for Oxford Brookes University to reserve and pay for your space in advance.
If paying on the day, open the JustPark app and enter the code for the site you're visiting (see signage in car parks or the table above).
Please note if you plan to pay by JustPark, but also actively use the Trust App, you are advised to turn off the Trust App autopay function before entering the car park.
- The Trust Parking app
In conjunction with the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras which have been installed on University sites, the Trust Parking app is designed to automatically recognise your vehicle on entry, track the duration of your stay, then automatically take payment once you have exited the car park (known as auto-pay which users will need to turn on via the app).
To make off-peak parking payments, please take the following steps:
- Download the Trust Parking app onto your mobile device. There is no charge for the app which is available to download from the Apple Store or download from the Play Store.
- Select Create Account in the app and complete the Trust Parking app registration process. A verification code will be sent to the email address you enter as part of the registration.
- When registering on the Trust Parking app, please ensure you provide a valid payment method and that your Vehicle Registration Mark (VRM) - i.e. your car’s number plate details - matches the VRM of the car being parked at one of the University’s sites.
- During the registration process for the Trust Parking app you will have the option to turn on the autopay feature. You can also activate this feature after you are logged in on the app via the Account section and selecting your registered vehicle.
- To view an active parking session, open the Trust Parking App after you have parked (please note that it may take up to 20-30 minutes for your session to appear).
- If you are paying for a single session and have auto-pay enabled alongside a valid payment method, you do not need to do anything. Payment will automatically be collected once you have left the car park and an email receipt will be sent to your registered email address.
- If you do not have autopay enabled, you have 24 hours to manually make payment via the Trust Parking app. You do this by selecting your Active Session and then selecting Pay Now.
- It is always the motorist’s responsibility to ensure payment is made for a parking session.
Further information on making off-peak parking payments is available on the Parking FAQs page.
