The cost of joining a TEAMBrookes Sports Club for the 2025/26 season is:
- Full Membership: £170 for the full academic year
- Development/Intramural Membership: £45 for the full academic year
Additional Costs: Some clubs may have small extra fees for sport-specific kit and equipment or to attend events, tours etc., check in with your club for details.
This fee is required for each Sports Club you are a part of.
For student-athletes representing and competing in BUCS competitions, you are not eligible to compete until you have purchased your Full Membership.
What does the Full Membership provide?
Depending on your sport, the Full Membership fee may include:
- National governing body affiliation costs
- Competition entry costs
- Umpires and match officials for fixtures
- Specific sports insurance
- Mental health support
- Transport to away fixtures and competition
- Facility access for training and competition
- Essential playing equipment
- Representative playing kit
- Technical and specialist coaches
- Staff support
Once you’ve purchased your full membership, you’ll be able to activate free access to the full Brookes Active Student Programme. You’ll also have the option to purchase discounted Brookes Sport memberships to support your training.
What does Development/Intramural Membership provide?
Depending on your sport, the Development/Intramural Membership Fee may include:
- Specific sports insurance
- Mental health support
- Facility access for training
- Essential playing equipment
- Staff support
- Entry into the intramural league for your sport (e.g. Netball, Football & Hockey)
Once you’ve purchased your Development/Intramural membership, you’ll be able to activate free access to the full Brookes Active Student Programme.
How to pay the Membership Fees
Once you have been selected for a team or confirmed your commitment, you will receive the online payment link to make either your £170 or £45 payment.
Paying the Membership Fee automatically enrols you onto the Student-Sport Personal Accident (injury) insurance policy.
Exemptions and Fee Waivers
- Those in receipt of an Oxford Brookes Bursary of £1,250 for 2025/26 are exempt from paying the £170 Membership fee - a copy of your 'letter of entitlement' will be required as part of the application form.
- Individuals in receipt of an International Hardship Award 2025/26 will also be considered for exemption. Confirmation of the award made by the University's Financial Aid Team will be required as part of the provision of evidence, via the same application form.
- Those selected as a Sports Scholar are also eligible for their £170 full membership fee to be waived.
