About us
Law gets into every aspect of personal, community, and national life; while key national debates draw on, and inform, criminology. The centre brings together a unique combination of more than 30 scholars working across law, criminology, and social justice. We have diverse ways of approaching our subjects, diverse areas of specialist expertise, and work in every landscape from the regional, through the national, to the global. What unites us is a shared commitment to research that makes a difference, which contributes to the pursuit of social justice.
The centre connects expertise in law and criminology with scholars working in other disciplines, and with key stakeholders in research such as policy makers, business and civil society. In doing so we draw upon work already done by established research groups in law and criminology.

Part of
Research impact
Our new centre builds upon a strong foundation of research focussed upon making a difference to broader society by working with governments and civil society. This includes fighting hate crime through legal reform, improving public policy on religion and belief at work, and supporting government through crisis.
