Before my degree I was studying in India. I also worked in a nursery for six months before coming over to the United Kingdom.

I have always loved children and been fascinated by them. I decided that I undoubtedly should pursue a career related to children. I thought that I could top-up the experience I gained working in a nursery in India with a degree, and this looked like the right course for me.

I looked at a number of universities and out of all of them I liked Brookes the most, the course gave a good balanced link of theoretical and practical elements. I was also attracted by the overseas exchange programme which was offered.

The best thing about the course is the lecturer to student ratio. The classes are very small, so the relationship between student and lecturer is virtually 1:1. I also love many of the modules I have taken and as a result believe I have learnt to understand children better.

Lecturers and fellow students have always offered help and support whenever I have ever needed any guidance.

The entire experience of being at university is different but has been filled with fun. I love the School of Education as it is focussed on teacher training and you always meet new people around the campus.

Alongside completing my degree, I am currently working in an after-school club to gain more experience. In the future I plan to become a teacher.
