Undergraduate courses

Wherever possible we make our conditional offers using the UCAS tariff. This gives great flexibility, particularly if you are offering a mix of qualifications, such as two A-levels plus a BTEC National Extended Certificate. In many cases, we don’t specify grades to be achieved, because we are looking for achievement across a range of qualifications or subjects.

You will find typical offers on each course entry. The course entries also list any specific entry requirements, such as passes in particular subjects or specific grades, which may be a condition of entry.

Acceptable qualifications

Our standard entry requirement is three A-levels or equivalent qualifications. In some cases, courses have specific required subjects and additional GCSE requirements. In addition to A-levels, we accept a wide range of other qualifications including:

  • the Welsh Baccalaureate
  • the Access to Higher Education Diploma
  • a BTEC National Certificate, Diploma or Extended Diploma at a good standard and in a relevant subject
  • the International Baccalaureate Diploma
  • the European Baccalaureate Diploma
  • Scottish qualifications – five subjects in SCE with two at Higher level or one at Advanced Higher level, or three subjects in Scottish Highers or two at Advanced Higher level
  • a recognised foundation course
  • T-levels*.
  • * T-levels are a relatively new qualification but are already included in the UCAS tariff. We welcome prospective students who are taking this qualification to apply. For some programmes with specific required subjects, particular subject areas or occupational specialisms may be required.

International / EU students

You may need to meet country specific and English language requirements to be eligible for undergraduate study. See further entry requirements on our international students pages.

Don't have the qualifications?

If you cannot find your own combination of likely grades and qualifications, do not be deterred - contact our Admissions Office and they will be able to advise on whether you are likely to meet the requirements for a particular course. If your qualifications are not equivalent to the above, you may be interested in our programme of foundation courses.
