Pakistan’s first-ever female architect, School of Architecture alumni Yasmeen Lari, has been
awarded the Jane Drew Prize 2020 for her contribution to raising the profile of women in
architecture and design. Lari, 79, joins the ranks of Zaha Hadid, Amanda Levete, Elizabeth
Diller and Denise Scott Brown – who have all previously received the prize.
An Architect Apprenticeship Degree at Oxford Brookes University was the pathway that led to Tegan Ramsey becoming an architect apprentice at the global firm Gensler. Her success was achieved despite a series of health challenges. Tegan’s experience is being featured as part of National Apprenticeship Week: 3 - 7 February 2020. This is an annual week-long celebration in the government’s calendar, to recognise apprentices across England.

The Faculty of Technology, Design & Environment (TDE) Research Student Conference took place on 16 May 2019. PhD students presented their research, displayed posters and gave performances. The event included participants from the School of Engineering, Computing & Mathematics, School of Arts, School of Architecture and School of Built Environment.
