The Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) is £776 per year (£388 for a part of a year less than six months). The total amount you pay will depend on the length of you visa. This is calculated on the length of your visa, not the length of your course. Courses 12 months or longer should get a visa that lasts until 4 months after your official course end date. Courses from 6 to 12 months long should get a visa that lasts until 2 months after your official course end date.
- Example 1: If your course lasts for one year (12 months), your visa will be issued for 16 months and you will pay £1,164 (£776 for 12 months + £388 for the remaining 4 months).
- Example 2: If your course lasts for two years (24 months), your visa will be issued for 28 months and you will pay £1,940 (£1,552 months + £388 for the remaining 4 months).
If you are applying with dependents, you will also need to pay an equal amount of IHS for each dependent.
