Brookes Lettings aims to lease quality properties to let to our students. When you lease your property to us, we become your tenant, taking on all the associated responsibilities. This means you don’t have to worry about finding tenants, your rent is guaranteed, tenancy issues are managed, damages are sorted out and we help keep you compliant with legislation.

You can either keep control of the maintenance of the property (‘part managed’), or we have our own staff and contractors who can do it for you (‘full-managed’).

Our interest is in providing our students with safe housing for them to undertake their studies, not turning a profit. We won’t charge you any extra fees or administration costs.

Why choose Brookes Lettings?

All we ask of you is that your property is safe and of a good standard for our students (see ‘is your property ready to let’. There are some great reasons to let your property through us:

  • We guarantee your rent: you won't be out of pocket if tenants don't pay of leave your property.
  • We protect your property: we inspect all properties regularly and ensure they are kept in good order.
  • We will find tenants for you: Oxford Brookes University has over 17,000 students, and we do all the work to find students to live in your property.
  • We deal with any problems: we will fix any problems and sort out any issues with tenants.
  • Any damages will be reimbursed: you don't have to worry about deducting any money from deposits to compensate yourself.
  • 24 hour maintenance service: if there is an emergency at your property, we have staff on hand to deal with it 24 hours a day.
  • We won't charge you any hidden costs: you will get a monthly rent payment from us, and we won't charge you any management or administrative fees.

How our tenancies work

The University is in the unique position to be able to continue to issue fixed-term student tenancies due to an exemption for higher education establishments under current legislation. Our approach is to lease properties from owners under a fixed-term, then sub-let them to our students.
