Steve Larkin is an internationally-respected spoken word artist, poet, performer, musician and educator. He is the founder and president of Hammer & Tongue (the UK’s largest poetry slam agency), a university lecturer in performance poetry, storytelling and creative writing, and the front man of cabaret klezmer ska band Inflatable Buddha.
Since winning the title of ‘International Poetry Slam Champion’ in 2004, he has become a firm favourite with poetry, theatre and fringe
festival audiences from Scandinavia to North America.
He has been teaching at Oxford Brookes for a number of years, as module leader of ‘Poetry and Storytelling in Performance’ for Performing Arts and now as part of the English and Modern Languages team teaching ‘Creative Writing’.
In 2010 he was nominated for Oxford Professor of Poetry.
He is currently working on touring his critically acclaimed spoken word theatre show ‘N.O.N.C.E.’
