Bus Stop Slam

  • AF-Harrold-3.jpgVarious poetry-related activities took place on Weds 21 March, both to celebrate Poetry on the Bus and to mark World Poetry Day.

These included a Poetry Slam at the Port Mahon (for those of you new to the world of slams, this is a live poetry competition where members of the audience judge 3-minute performances of spoken word with an Olympic-style scoring system).

The winner was the wonderful Tina Sederholm with her poem The Flu, a witty take on Donne’s The Flea.

The evening also featured guest performances from:

    • Steve Larkin
Spoken Word Olympic International Slam Champion
      "A pump-action powerhouse on-stage" - Edmonton Journal
    • AF Harrold
Hammer and Tongue Slam Champion 2005–2006
"Poems which are true more than half the time" - Leonard Cohen
