Get connected

Once you are on campus we recommend connecting your devices to our WiFi networks. There are a number of different networks in use on Oxford Brookes sites. See below for information about the options and how to get connected.

If you have any issues connecting to any of the below networks, please refer to the Wireless Networking guide for full instructions and troubleshooting.

Eduroam - the main WiFi network

Eduroam is the main Wi-Fi network for both staff and student use. It provides simple, easy and secure connectivity from thousands of hotspots across more than 100 countries. It means you will be connected to Wi-Fi whenever you are in range of any institution that uses it, not just Brookes. We recommend getting connected to Eduroam as soon as you are enrolled.

Guest networks

Oxford Brookes has guest WiFi networks which are open for anyone to use. You can use these before you enrol.

OBU_Guest WiFi is our new guest network, which is in place in the following buildings:

  • Buckley Building
  • Clerici Building
  • John Henry Brookes Building, Lloyd Building and Sinclair Buildings
  • New Headington Hill Building
  • The Workshop (Headington Hill)

BrookesWifi is our older guest network which is in the process of being replaced by OBU_Guest WiFi. It is available in all other buildings on campus.
