Project gateways
GATEWAY 0
Strategic assessment and approval to develop the Business Case. Planned outcomes and objectives are aligned with OBU's strategic goals.
GATEWAY 1
Investment justification and approval to plan the project. What’s proposed is clearly defined, well-planned, consistent with the prior strategic assessment, specifies measurable benefits, meets a genuine business need, is achievable at the desired quality within the required timescale and with tolerable risk, to be affordable and to deliver value.
GATEWAY 2
Delivery proposals and approval to start delivery. Detailed, robust and manageable plans, adequate controls and compliance arrangements (Health & Safety, EU procurement, sustainability, IS/IT standards, etc) and that funding/resources are available. Acknowledging the supplier market’s capability, track record, performance, and likelihood of responding to the requirement.
GATEWAY 3
Readiness for service and approval of transition and benefits realisation plan. Confirmation that any testing/commissioning is complete (alternatively, that anything unresolved is recorded and poses no threat) and that contractual, service-delivery, benefits management, resourcing, reporting and business continuity arrangements are ready for implementation and handover to business for operation.
