Overview

The scholarship covers fees, accommodation, and a contribution towards living expenses up to a total of £30,000 for the Academic Year 2023/24. The living expenses contribution will be paid for 50 weeks, but should the student decide to return home early, payment will stop when they leave Oxford.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants should fulfil the following criteria:

  • Wish to study for a one year full-time Master’s degree at Oxford Brookes University
  • Have a good undergraduate degree (equivalent to a 1st/2:1)
  • Be under 35 years of age
  • Have an IELTS score of 6.0-7.0 overall (with 6.0 in reading and writing, 5.5 in listening and speaking )
  • Have relevant work experience 
  • Be in financial need
  • Not previously studied in the UK

Application process

There are two aspects to the application required for this scholarship:

  1. Application for admission to a particular programme (browse the various fields of study), and follow the links to the relevant application form

    Priority fields of study (other areas may also be considered):
    • ​Built Environment, Regeneration , Development , Environmental Management
    • Development and Emergency Practice
    • Public Health, Disease Prevention and Control, Rehabilitation, Social Care
    • Law, Human Rights, IT
       
  2. Application for the Scholarship
    Having made  an academic  application as described above, applicants for the scholarship should then write a letter of no more than 500 words, confirming that they have applied for admission to the university, stating which program they have applied for, and  explaining both how they meet the criteria and why they should be considered for the scholarship.  Applicants must ensure they include their full name, postal address and email on the letter.

A shortlist of candidates will be selected in April with interviews taking place before the end of May 2023.

Terms and conditions

Applicants must be new, full-time, international fee-paying students studying a  one year full-time Master’s degree. 

The scholarship will only be available to students commencing a one year full-time Master’s degree in September 2023.
