Financial help for undergraduate international students from outside the EU

  • If you are an international student you can benefit from a range of financial support to help with the cost of studying in the UK.
  • At Oxford Brookes, we have always warmly welcomed students from the EU. We deeply value the enormous contributions they make, and we will continue to do all we can to welcome EU students long into the future.

We are therefore delighted to announce that we will be offering scholarships of £4,000 to all EU students who wish to join our degree programmes in the academic year 2021/22. If you meet the criteria, this scholarship will be applied automatically as a discount to your tuition fees across all years of study.

In order to qualify for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    1. Applicants must:
      • have an offer from the University to begin a degree programme in the academic year 2021/22 and to have firmly accepted that offer
      • be a passport holder of an EU country
      • be a resident of an EU country or have EU settled status
      • be an international fee-paying student
      • be studying a full time 3 or 4 year undergraduate degree or a full 1 or 2 year postgraduate degree primarily delivered at an Oxford Brookes campus.

    2. The scholarship will only be available to students commencing a degree in the academic year 2021/22.

    3. Students are not able to claim this scholarship in conjunction with any other funding offered by Oxford Brookes University.

    4. Unfortunately this scholarship does not apply to students who have international fee status and are outside of the EU or students with home fees.

    5. The scholarship will be applied as a tuition fee discount.

For further information, you can contact us at scholarships@brookes.ac.uk.

If two or more members of immediate family are studying and paying fees at Oxford Brookes at the same time, we will deduct 10% from your tuition fees for each family member.

This discount is open to all family members (siblings and spouses) who are categorised as 'overseas' for fees purposes. For more information please contact the Student Finance team.

If you have completed one of these courses

and are renewing your visa to join an Oxford Brookes undergraduate course in 2018-19, the University will pay the costs of renewing your Tier 4 visa, as follows:

    • £475, if it is renewed in the UK
    • £348, if it is renewed outside the UK

To claim this discount you should apply by email to the Student Finance Office after receiving your visa for your new course. You must provide a copy of your passport or your new visa, which must be dated after you have finished your previous course.

If you have applied in the UK you must show your new visa on a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) or visa card. If you have applied outside the UK you must show the visa sticker in your passport.

Unless a request is made no discount will be awarded. The discount will be debited against your tuition fees. If your fees have already been paid in full a refund will be arranged. Only one visa renewal discount will be awarded per course.

The  Oxford Brookes Sanctuary Scholarship scheme provides a full fee waiver and living cost bursary to individuals seeking asylum and those who have a form of protection from an asylum claim who are not able to access government student finance.

Other sources of funding are available from time to time. For more information, please contact your local British Council office or visit the websites of the UK Council for International Student Affairs or Education UK.
