    Paying for your accommodation

    Payments are made online via our Accommodation Portal. The portal accepts visa credit, visa debit, mastercard and electron. You will receive an email shortly before each due date to remind you that a payment is due.

    If you cannot pay by card, there are alternative options - see the finance paying your fees webpage for information.

    The prices given are for contracts starting in September 2018 and correct at the time of publication (June 2018). Existing students should always refer to their Accommodation Portal account for the most up to date information.

    Instalment payment options

    When you accept your contract you can select your preferred instalment plan. Whichever you choose, the total price is always the same. You can also change your instalment plan later if you wish.

    You can choose to pay in three instalments which coincide with when you receive your student loan. The dates for 2018-19 are 4 October, 31 January and 4 April. This option is designed for UK students using a Higher Education Maintenance Loan from the Student Loans Company.

    Booking confirmation

    When you accept a contract for accommodation you will be required to pay a booking confirmation fee. 

    • Most of our halls are managed by the university. For these halls you will need to pay a £230 booking confirmation fee. This is paid to secure your room booking and will be deducted from your first rent payment. You will need to pay the booking confirmation fee by credit or UK debit card via our online accommodation portal.  
    • If you are accepting a contract for Cheney Student Village you will also need to pay a £200 refundable damage deposit.
    • If you are accepting a contract for the Mews, there is a reservation fee of £300 payable. You must also either provide a UK guarantor or pay your fees upfront in full.
    • If you are accepting a contract for one of the halls operated by A2Dominion (Canterbury House, Sinnet Court or Windmill Road), there is a reservation fee of £250 which converts to a deposit at the start of your tenancy. You must also pay a month’s rent before you move in and take out contents insurance with Endsleigh Insurance. This is a one-off cost of £14 and is payable to the A2Dominion ahead of the start of your tenancy.
