  • Accommodation fees

Oxford Brookes offers a variety of hall and housing choices. For information about each hall and the costs please visit the accommodation hall pages.

    Paying for your accommodation

If you accept a place in a third-party/partnership hall, payment arrangements will be different. Please refer to the provider's own website for full information.

Payments are made online via our Accommodation Portal. The portal accepts visa credit, visa debit, mastercard and electron. You will receive an email shortly before each due date to remind you that your rent is due.

If you cannot pay by card, there are alternative options - see the finance paying your fees webpage for information.

    Instalment payment options

When you accept your contract you can select your preferred instalment plan. Whichever you choose, the total price is always the same. You can also change your instalment plan later if you wish.

    • One payment - you can pay the full amount at the beginning of your tenancy.
    • Three instalments - You can choose to pay in three instalments which coincide with when you receive your student loan. The dates for 2019-20 are 4 October, 31 January and 4 April. This option is designed for UK students using a Higher Education Maintenance Loan from the Student Loans Company. If you choose this option, your full contract will be split into (approximate) thirds and charged to you on the above dates. Please note that the three payment dates do not directly coincide with the period of time you are paying for.
    • Eight instalments - rental changes are payable on the first day of each month.

    Confirming your booking

Most of our halls are managed by the university. For these halls your first payment will be your first rent charge, due in early October. However, some halls do require a deposit or rent advance as part of confirming the booking.

    • If you are accepting a contract for Cheney Student Village you will also need to pay a £200 refundable damage deposit.
    • If you are accepting a contract for the Mews, there is a rent advance of £300 payable. You must also either provide a UK guarantor or pay your fees upfront in full.
    • If you are accepting a contract for one of the halls operated by A2Dominion (Canterbury House, Sinnet Court or Windmill Road), there is a damage deposit of £250 to pay. You must also pay a month’s rent before you move in and take out contents insurance with Endsleigh Insurance. This is a one-off cost of £14 and is payable to A2Dominion ahead of the start of your tenancy.
    • If you are accepting a contract for one of the halls operated by Unite Students (Dorset House, Beech House or Parade Green), you will need to pay an initial rent advance of £250 when you make your booking. Your first rent payment will be due in August. This will be for 10% of the total rent for the year. The £250 will be deducted from this payment.
