Kendo

Kendo, meaning "the way of the sword," is a traditional Japanese martial art akin to fencing.

Kendo was originally developed to preserve swordsmanship techniques after the samurai era, it has evolved into a popular sport both in Japan and worldwide.

Kendo is open to all genders and experience levels and we welcome enquiries from individuals with disabilities regarding the accessibility of Kendo.

Kendo became an Oxford Brookes Sports Club in 2021 and we're excited to see it continue to grow. The club welcomes new members, including beginners, with no prior experience or specific fitness level required. Additionally, no equipment is needed to start.

There are opportunities to compete with the club, and further your skills through our association with Oxford Kendo Club.
