Overview

Our alumni discount is available to any student who has graduated from Oxford Brookes University with an ordinary or honours degree and wishes to stay on or return for an additional degree. For example, an undergraduate student who then studies for a taught Master's course.

This discount is also available to international students that have completed our International Foundation or Pre-Master’s course and move into a substantive undergraduate or postgraduate programme, as well as those that have completed an incoming Study Abroad or exchange programme and return to Oxford Brookes for a substantive degree programme.

Eligibility

Eligibility criteria

To qualify you must:

  • Be a graduate of Oxford Brookes University. This means that you must have either qualified on a full undergraduate or postgraduate degree, completed a pre-sessional English course, International Foundation or Pre-Master’s course, or completed an incoming Study Abroad or exchange programme.
  • Hold an offer and enrol on a degree-awarding undergraduate or postgraduate course at Oxford Brookes University. The majority of courses qualify for the discount, but please check the exception list below.

Exceptions

  • You will not be eligible for the discount if your previous study only includes occasional study courses, Modular Associate programmes, and certificate or diploma courses.
  • If you transfer from one course to another as part of normal progression arrangements, you are not eligible for the alumni discount on the second or subsequent course. For example: students on integrated Master’s course are not eligible for the discount.
  • This discount is not applicable to students who are sponsored.
  • The discount will not be applied to the following programmes: 
    • Pre-sessional programmes in English Language 
    • English Language Foundation Programmes 
    • Modular Associate programmes 
    • occasional study programmes 
    • exchange programmes
    • continuing professional development programmes 
    • Diploma or certificate courses (Note: Graduate Diploma in Law does apply)
    • MBA ACCA members already paying a discounted fee
    • MArch Advanced Architectural Design and MarchD Applied Design in Architecture (ARB and RIBA part 2)
    • Courses where a student has exited with a Certificate or Diploma level qualification and returns to complete a “top up” course for the master’s qualification
    • Any Continuing Professional Development (Healthcare) course.

Terms and conditions of financial support

The following regulations pertain to the alumni discount:
  • The discount is available to home students who commence a new postgraduate programme of study at the University, having graduated from a previous Oxford Brookes degree. And, for international students who commence a new undergraduate or postgraduate programme of study at the University, having graduated from a previous Oxford Brookes degree or progressed from an Oxford Brookes international pathway programme. 
  • If the discount changes part way through your degree (e.g. a new percentage discount is introduced), you will remain on the tuition fee discount applied at the start of your degree.
  • The discount will apply for the first year of full time taught degree study at the value of 20% of the tuition fees. Part-time students will receive the discount against the first two years of study. 
  • Research degree students will receive a 10% discount for each year of study.
  • The discount is not transferable. The University does not permit the discount to be used for any other purpose.
  • The University reserves the right to vary or withdraw the discount at its sole discretion.
  • This discount cannot be coupled with the international scholarship within the same academic year. This alumni discount will take precedence over the international scholarship as the higher value discount. 
  • This discount commences for those students who enter a degree programme in September 2026.
